Mark has experience in building successful profitable water solutions through establishing networks of business relationships, including equipment suppliers, business groups, and governments.
He established Biosystems in Indonesia in 1996 after a long career in commercial contruction, including infrastructure. Mark’s key achievments include :
- Master Builder in Resort development in Queensland Australia. Mark was a winner of the HIA Hotel Industry Association awards 1983 at age 29 being awarded best resort in Queensland.
- Mark ventured into Wastewater business in the early 1980s, including working on biological Wastewater Treatment Plants with Royal Dutch Shell UK, BP and the Australian Government.
- Mark pioneered the importation of biological agents and cultures for wastewater and probiotics for agricultural processes in Indonesia.
- Mark has developed glass water bottling plants for 5-star resorts in Indonesia to cut the water cost for hotels and make a positive impact on the environment by eliminating plastic bottles. The first bottling plant was installed in the St Regis Resort in Nusa Dua in 2019. To date this resort has eliminated the use of approximately 3 million single use plastic bottles. Mark has built diverse businesses together with his wife Sisca for the last 23 years, working the business through SARS, natural disasters, CV19, down turns and up turns.
Mark and Sisca are responsible for installing Water & Waste Treatment Plants in numerous projects in Indonesia and the international market. They are experienced operators, working in total harmony and are excited about the growth plans of the Company. Some of Biosystems clients include the British and Australian Embassies in Jakarta (see testimonial below). The company is very excited about now bringing HACCP standard drinking water Bottling Plants to island communities. Our latest project includes 11 island communities in the Maldives with many more similar projects to come. This is absolutely life changing for these remote populations.
